Yesterday dawned beautiful and sunny, and we couldn’t stay indoors- the kids and I decided to hit Duthie Park. We’ve been there lots of times before (great pics on that link by the way), the first time during Malone Family Fun Week last February but I am still amazed at the joy it brings me/us. Not only are there 2 parks to play at, there are also the Winter Gardens. I think I finally put my finger on part of why I love the gardens- they remind me of my dad. He loves flowers, ponds, and fish. These gardens are so well-cultivated and neatly organized- I always think about how much he’d love it all and how he’d probably learn to drive if only to get to the gardens every day. Love you, Dad!
Anyway, today was no surprise- great morning! We played and slid and visited the gardens and ate suckers. Luke especially loved the ponds and the fish (“fis!”). He also loved throwing pence into the water, though was unsure as to whether the coins had to stay in the wa-wa.

what a fun place to take your kids. i am so excited for cody to be at the age where we can enjoy the outdoors this spring/summer. we’ve been taking walks at night and he just looks around at every sound/bird/car. I love seeing your kids explore and what I have to look forward to. Those slides look amazing! Love reading about your outings.
I have great memories of that park and gardens. Remember how Luke laughed at Rebekah jumping in the puddles – too funny. Now he will be jumping also. Can’t wait to go again.
love the pictures! It gives me hope that someday it will be nice in New England again.
That boot pot is super cool! I can’t wait to start planting some flowers. Hello, spring, hurry up!

I want one of the hydrengeas (sp?)! I can’t believe how many there were! The park looks so peaceful and reminds me of the parks in Spain! One of the parks in Spain was beautiful just like that!
