Coke Zero

I could drink all 3 of those. Tomorrow. Not really, but almost.

Good-bye, my faithful friend

My friends, the time has come.  I have been thinking more and more about the habits I have and the patterns I set up for my children.  I am tired, so I will cut to the chase- I consume waaaaay too much Coke Zero.  For the sake of my family and our sanity, I am going to cut back down to 1 a day this week, then try to go off completely….maybe.  It is my only real vice, so I can’t commit this minute.  Anyway, I want to see if my energy levels improve and if I can survive/function on less than 3 or 4 a day.

  • Pray for me.  Rather, pray for my family, who will be first-hand recipients.

Okay- side note- the description of this picture from corbisimages.com is as follows:

11 Jun 2009, CARACAS, Venezuela — A man takes a bottle of Coke Zero out of a fridge at a supermarket in Caracas June 11, 2009. The Venezuelan government of U.S.-critic President Hugo Chavez on Wednesday ordered Coca-Cola Co to withdraw its Coke Zero beverage from the South American nation, citing unspecified dangers to health. The decision follows a wave of nationalizations and increased scrutiny of businesses in South America’s top oil exporter. Giving up the “Coke” is hard to do!! Do y’all have Blue Sky cola? It’s all natural, sweetened with sugar or Stevia (for the diet ones). It’s really good and doesn’t have all the crazy American weird ingredients.

I applaud you, Emily! We recently decided to cut back on canned soft drinks in our home simply for budget reasons. I limited us to – get this – ONE twelve pack per month! I actually had to put a post-it note on the carton to remind us to not grab them so liberally. We’ve made it though, somehow. Good luck…to you AND your family! :)

Oh, wow – on that article! Yikes! Good luck on going off! I went off soda about a year or so ago. I only drink sometimes if we go out. I also just gave up coffee about a month ago. What was I thinking?! LOL! :D Not giving up chocolate though…

    Have a great day!

This is Becky. Can you get the bottles of diet green tea there? We also buy it by the gallon. You could make your own (much cheaper). Billy drinks that stuff all day long. No guilt + antioxidants + good example for kiddies = happy mommy.
