A quick day trip
Since Aunt Sarah chose to spend her money and vacay time on visiting us, we are trying to come up with fun things to do with her while we’re here, including Dunnottar Castle on Saturday and a day trip to Edinburgh on Monday. As I mentally planned the trip, I convinced myself it was only a 2-hour drive. Much to my chagrin, it was more like 3 hours. Bummer. Regardless of my own miscalculations, Josh and Tom Tom guided us right onto Castle Terrace and the base of Castle Rock. We checked out Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. I was impressed at how quickly and happily Luke fell asleep in his stroller. Such a good boy.
p.s. Josh and I visited Edinburgh last summer while his parents kept the kids. I took a ton of pics I didn’t want to repeat on this post. Check out Edinburgh Castle, and more on Edinburgh from last July. We loved the time together, but we really missed our little buddies. It was awesome to share the day with them and Aunt Sarah.

Way to go Luke! What a blessing! I can’t believe how tall Rebekah is standing with Aunt Sarah! She does such a great job with all the walking too!
What a great trip. Can’t wait to see it when we’re there. Hope Sarah is back in Aberdeen for her last couple of days there.
So glad you all had fun and the weather was fairly nice for your trip.
The photo with the piper in it kind of freaks me out because I couldn’t tell for a second if he was real or not. I kind of did a double take until I finally figured out that it was a statue. Funny.
Be prepared this might be a loooong comment that should be more for email, but I’m too lazy to hit command+T to open gmail…..
We’re talking/planning an anniversary trip for this fall. Paris has been the forrunner for forever, but recently, we’ve started thinking maybe we should go elsewhere. Then we started looking into Ireland. And then, out of nowhere, I came across this fabulous deal for Scotland. I started thinking “Oh… Scotland. We could hang out with the Malones and see all the places Emily posts pictures of. Etc, etc.” But, then I wondered if it’d be really strange to travel that far so Jon and I could have time “alone” and then spend time with y’all.
No, not weird! Yes, come! You can stay in R’s room as long as you like!
