español escosés {Scottish Spanish}
I offered to teach Spanish to the toddlers and preschoolers in our play group every Monday at 11am. I thought I’d share my lesson plans, tweaks, and vocabulary for anyone interested, as well as for the moms to review their kids for the next week. *Each week, we are learning part of the alphabet, a new color, or numbers, as well as various phrases or terms (maybe 4-6 phrases or terms a time). Most lessons will be based on toys or other tactile objects and I will incorporate or just add a story in Spanish and/or Bible story.
lunes, 09 de noviembre
Objetivos:
- Practice alphabet
- Review asking and telling age, as well as names
- Review #s (1-20) & Counting
- Learn 3 new action verbs
- Read story
- Sing Colores (review rojo, verde, azul, morado, amarillo, blanco, marrón, negro, gris, anaranjado)
Métodos:
- Say alphabet chant a couple times for review.
- Practice vowel rhyme that incorporates “¿Cómo te llamas?” Then, practicing asking and answering. (We didn’t do this last week, so hopefully I’ll remember this week!)
- Practice 1-20 by counting Little People toys. Then, make a circle, and count 1-20 person by person. Have each child and adult take turns counting in the circle.
- Practice action verbs.
- Learn 3 new action verbs: stand up, sit down, & turn around. Have kids do the action while saying it. Practice the 3 new action verbs first, then add them to the other 4.
Vocabulario
- Levántate- Stand up.
- Siéntate- Sit down.
- Dóblate- Turn around.
Tip: With a group, I realy should be using plural (Uds) commands. However, I decided to do 2nd person commands (tú) so they hear it one-on-one.
Just like last week, please practice counting, as well as the phrases they have learned: ¿Cómo te llamas?” and ¿Cuántos años tienes? because {fun} repetition is the only way they’ll get these since they’re not processing the grammatical side just yet. :) We practice on walks or in the car when I think of it. We also count things and play “I spy” {Yo espio} with colors.
