So, basically on a dare, I had to eat haggis the other day. Then, because I stomached it {no pun intended}, Josh begged me to make Balmoral Chicken, aka haggis-stuffed, bacon-wrapped chicken. In all honesty, it was totally delicious. Yeah, you heard me, dee-licious. The garlic-lemon roasted
asparagus was amazing, as well. {side note, out of frugality, I did not make the whisky sauce…sorry, everyone.}
For the record, 3 of us have had asparagus, spinach, green beans, and broccoli this week. I’m a little proud, I’ll admit it.
I linked to Full Plate Thursday over at Miz Helen’s.

Was this seriously your first taste of haggis?!?! I’m going to have to try this one. My boys LOVE haggis.
Blair, I know, I know…I was really grossed out by the whole idea, but Joe McGarry wouldn’t come off it, so he brought it to a play grp for me to try- I literally ate from his sons’ dishes.
That was fine…this, however, I really liked, which is fitting since it’s way worse for you!
I missed something…what is haggis?
Wow I am not sure I would eat haggis but you have really made it look great and very appetizing! The asparagus sounds really good! I have hit a milestone on my blog and I wanted to say Thank You for helping make it happen> I really appreciated the nice comment you left on my blog. Thanks Again.
I’m impressed! Not about the haggis, but the veggies (just kidding, well sorta). But good job on both parts!
I had to come over here and look at this.
My husband’s stepdad is Scottish and he keeps saying that Haggis is wonderful and that it’s the Offal parts of the sheep and not the “Awful” parts, as I keep insisting. I expect every time that we are invited to dinner that he will be serving this. I have jokingly told him that if he plans to serve us haggis some evening that he should make sure and have a REALLY long cocktail hour and have plenty of Laphroig. I’m impressed with your bravery! It looks delicious but I remain a bit skeptical. Thank you for sharing it today!!
